Comes WITHOUT SD card and WITHOUT image — you flash that yourself! Everything else is included; all you need is your own SD card.
The DIY kit is the SeedSigner you build yourself: every part in one box, assembly takes about half an hour and needs no soldering iron. Afterwards you know exactly what is inside your signing device, and when it comes to key custody that is not a small point.
Included in the kit:
– Raspberry Pi Zero v1.3 with the header already soldered (the version without Wi-Fi and Bluetooth)
– Waveshare 1.3-inch display, 240 × 240 pixels
– Raspberry Pi camera with ribbon cable
– 3D-printed OpenPill case in the chosen colour combination, with an M2.5 threaded insert as joystick head and a flexible TPU button
Deliberately not included: microSD card, image and USB cable. You download the SeedSigner software from github.com/SeedSigner yourself, verify the signature and write it to your own card. That is exactly what the SeedSigner project recommends, because a signing device that a vendor has already put software on demands a kind of trust you should not have to give.
The build: push the display onto the header, connect the camera, seat everything in the case, close the lid. Step-by-step guides and videos are available from the SeedSigner project; if you would rather have someone along, book our online support session.
Once built, the SeedSigner works fully offline and does not store your seed: it is loaded each session via SeedQR or by typing, and transactions travel only as QR codes between device and wallet (Sparrow, Specter, BlueWallet, Nunchuk and others). Prices depend on the case colour; colour wishes for lid and button are welcome as a comment on your order.
